The search for the perfect zipped Filofax.

Hi everyone. I know I've been terrible for my lack of blogging lately. But I've been busy with uni deadlines and now I'm poorly.
Anyhow. Iv been on the search for the perfect zipped Filofax. I had Lyndy the personal lyndhurst. See here for Lyndy

Now I love Lyndy, he is such a soft leather he's just gorgeous. But he doesn't have an inside zip pocket for money. And as I use my Filofax for EVERYTHING, this wasn't working.
so I tried the personal Cuban zip in saddle brown.


This had an inside zip pocket.



But unfortunately I couldn't get along with him. He was to rigid, and I struggled to get money out from the pocket.
So I went back to Lyndy and kept an eye out for another one that would make me happy.
Then one day on eBay I saw this.



It was a Roxy organizer by Quiksilver. Now I love Roxy stuff so kept an eye on it.
£5.20 later (including £2.59 postage) she was mine.
On the left inside cover we have a clear horizontal pocket and two more above it, and a wide vertical pocket.


On the back cover there is a large zip compartment, an elasticated pen holder and a large vertical pocket behind the zipped compartment.





So the question is, have I found my perfect zipped Filofax???? Well it's not quite a Filofax per se. But it's close enough for me, and it's perfect. :)

Lack of blogging

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been blogging much. Been sooooo busy. As well as Christmas approaching and getting sorted for that, I have had the family poorly with one thing or another. :(.
I have also been busy with uni work. Had a report and an essay to be handed in. So it's Been quite stressful at Rapunzel's house.
Now that everything and everyone seems to be sorted, it appears I'm coming down with one of the many bugs going around.
So I will try and get caught up with the wreck this journal. I know people have missed it.

Day-timer week to view 2012 diary inserts.

My Day-timer order arrived today. Yay. So I just wanted to share it with you all. I ordered the compact size which fits the personal Filofax.
The first lot of photos are what comes wrapped separately as the information pages.











































Then there was a leaflet on how to organiser your planner.



Then there was a today marker.



Then we come to the diary.



















Then at the end of the diary you get pages of to be done in 2013.


And then plenty of note paper.





So there is a very quick look at the Day-timer 2012 week to view diary refill. Once iv got it all in my Filofax I will blog again.

My first impressions are, I love it. I love the different colours and pictures for the month dividers.

Wreck this journal. A review.

Wreck this journal-Keri Smith.



I have been following this book for nine days now, and have been asked to give some feedback on it.
This is not a journal for serious writers. It is intended as fun, and as the title suggests, to wreck it. Every page shows a different way of causing harm to the book which would usually go against most people's beliefs of treating a book.
It isn't dated, as you choose at will which page you wish to follow, and there isn't space for 'normal' journaling. You basically follow the instructions for that particular activity.

Some examples of pages within the book are;
Crack the spine.
Poke holes in this page using a pencil.
Colour this entire page.
Tear out the page and crumple it.
Close the journal. Write/scribble something on the edges.

I personally think this book is fantastic. To start off I did feel bad about the things I did to it. But now, I see it as 5 minutes of fun in a day.
You create memories by following the pages, so in that respect, is a journal. It has created a liking amongst my twitter friends who enjoy seeing what I blog each day.

I would recommend this book as a lighthearted, fun activity. It is not for serious journal writers. Anyone who wants to do something different, or likes challenges should buy it.

The Cuban zip dilemma

I had been using Lyndy for a bit but couldn't get on with the fact he had no zipped compartment for money. So on wednesday I looked into getting a Cuban zip in personal size.

Now this should be an easy process. You order from Filofax surely??? Well, usually I would say yes. But. A few people have been having problems receiving orders from Filofax.
(Sharon is still awaiting delivery of her Cuban zip that she ordered on Monday, and Imy only received her personal deco yesterday that turned out to be damaged). I too ordered paper from Filofax on Friday an only received it on Wednesday. Customer service doesn't know what is going on and offer a variety of excuses for lack of delivery. Now people might not think that this is a big deal, but when you order quite often from them you know when they are likely to arrive. It used to be next day, but recently service has gone downhill.

So. My dilemma was, do I order the Cuban in chilli from Filofax and risk it taking nearly a week to deliver via first class mail. Or do I order the saddle brown Cuban from an eBay seller with 100% positive feedback with comments of quick dispatch and delivery???????



I went with eBay. Sorry Filofax but until your delivery system and customer service improves I will either not buy your products or shop elsewhere. I ordered 9.35pm Wednesday night and it was delivered first class by Royal Mail today.
I'm sorry Sharon, I don't want to rub it in that I've got mine, but I'm so annoyed with the way the company is functioning at the moment I had to blog.
I will do my set up post once you have received yours and you are happy with it. :(

Wreck this journal day 8

Today's page has been left in the capable hands of my friend Jessie. I met Jessie on my first day at uni and we have been friends ever since. Jessie is just getting back into blogging and wanted something to start her off again.
So here is Jessie.

Today Tracy brought her “Wreck this Journal” into uni for me to do one of the pages- I was really excited about doing this as I have been contemplating buying one of these journals myself and now I know I will definitely be purchasing one of these soon!


The page Tracy chose for me was “hang the journal in a public place. Invite people to draw here” and I felt a bit naughty being asked to draw inside a book but it was really fun & got me through a boring lecture!



My doodles are the ones in the red biro and I didn’t really think about what I was drawing and just doodled the things I always tend to draw in lectures, typical me really- a flower and lots of stars. Sums my artistic skills up really- zero!

I really enjoyed doing this as it was something a bit silly and random but it was nice to think that I’ve made a little memory in Tracy’s journal, just one of lots we have together.

This book is definitely worth buying as it’s really good for making lots of little memories and allows you to do something a bit fun and random. It’s also a really good “outlet” as you don’t have to think too hard and for me things like this are a really good stress relief after a day of uni or doing assignments.

So thank you Tracy for allowing me to take part in “wreck this journal” and making me realise that I should definitely buy this book and I recommend it to anyone!

Wreck this journal day 6

I've been busy today so didn't get to do the page I wanted to. But instead, I have done this.........................


Ooh I was soo excited when I saw it so went to raid the kids left over paint.
This was my space I had to print on.



So I found a left over strip of paints that you get from little art sets.



And here is the final result!!!!!!!!!!!!!



Haha. What a fantastic way to end he day!!!!

My new dividers for Lyndy the Lyndhurst.

Since I moved over to the personal lyndhurst I decided I needed to make him some new dividers.
I bought some paper from Staples today that I thought was fab.



These were the four sheets I was going to use.


As well as this one that I made last week.



I bought some index stickers from paperchase with owls on them. They are awesome.



This is the final result.









Aren't they sweet peeking over the top.
