The set up of my pocket Malden

Hello. As promised here is the set up of my pocket Malden aka my life.

The pocket Malden is a fantastic size for day to running of life. A lot easier than the personal. I have decided to name this Malden Scarlet. I think the name suits her.

So we start with the front cover.

As I am using this Filofax as a purse/wallet I have my loose change in the zip compartment. I also have a couple of cards and my train ticket in the other pockets.
The first thing you see when you open Scarlet is the Filofax post-it notes.

I am also still using the bic four colour pen with it, so due to size doesn't fit into the pen loop.

So with this being a pocket Filofax I decided to make my own top tab dividers to give more room for the pen. I am finding that this works well.

We then come to the standard week on two pages diary. There seems to be a lot of ringspace so have got 11 months inside.

Next we come to the purple divider. Behind this we have notes and info.

The orange post-it tab is my Christmas gift list. This tells me what I have bought and for who. The blue post-it tab is inportant information that I might need.

Then we have the second divider.

Behind this we have my little Filofax stickers for events and appointments.

Behind the blue divider we have my to do list.

We then come to silver, the final divider.

This keeps my cards that get used now and again and my shopping vouchers.

I may put another envelope in yet. I'm undecided at the moment.

In the back cover we have my notepad and two cards in the vertical pocket.

I am loving how this Filofax is working.

I am especially liking how the top tab dividers work within it, giving me more room for pens.

So there we go. My blogpost on how I set my Pocket Malden Scarlet up.
Hope you enjoyed it.

10 items I can't live without

I have decided to do a post today on 10 items I can't live without. I'm hoping that the lovely All Stars people at Philofaxy are going to guest blog on this topic. If anyone else would like to have a go then let me know :)

My 10 items I can't live without.

1. My iPhone

Now this photo isn't actually my iPhone as I'm using it now. My phone is called Izzy and she goes everywhere with me. I do everything with Izzy. We do Facebook, Twitter, blog, google, check emails, type up essay plans, play games, play music, take photos, the list goes on. Everything the phone can do, I probably use it. At the moment Izzy has a purple silicone case on. Nice and simple. I would be lost without my phone.

2. My Personal Malden Filofax.

I'm not going to go into too much detail into this one as I have done a review on it. I hope the link works.

3. Lypsyl.

I take Lypsyl everywhere with me. I only use this one as I tend to have a reaction to most others including the strawberry Lypsyl. I have about 5 in various different places so I know where one is if I need it.

4. Tangle Teezer.

This item is a piece of genius. I don't use any other brush. As I have extensions in, this is fantastic for detangling. I have no problems with it. My daughter is 3 and has curly hair, and will sit for ages letting me brush her hair with the tangle teezer. It is a lifesaver!!

5. My green Fox Racing hoodie.

I love this top and wear it all the time. It is getting quite worn on the sleeves now though, but I can't get rid of it.

This is the back of my top.

And this is a close up of the front. I love it.

6. Post-it notes.

I love all stationary but especially love post-it notes. They are soo handy!! I have them posted on the side of my desk with essay plans on and for referencing. I have them in my Filofax. All of my uni work is plastered in post-it notes. I even keep some in my bag. They are fantastic. I especially love the super sticky ones.

7. Bic Fashion Colour Pens.

I would be quite upset if I couldn't use this pen anymore. As you can see I have a number of them to choose from. I do find though that the purple gets used up first which then means I have to get a new pen. Grrrrr. I use this to write in my Filofax. If I do t have a very busy day then I doodle on the page to fill it up. I don't like my diary to look boring. I also use it to highlight different things in my diary. Zig zag means important, cloud highlight means something to do or somewhere to go.

8. My handbag.

This bag is a recent purchase. It is by Animal. I love their handbags. I have downsized by buying this one, but it means I carry less junk around with me.

9. My Playboy nail kit.

I can't actually remember the technical term for it, but it is fab. It looks like a little pen knife, but it isn't. It has nail scissors, two nail files/cuticle tools, a mirror, a lip brush and tweezers. The little scissors get used for everything.

10. Student cards.

I love getting student discount so had to sign up for the NUS Extra card which gives you more opportunity to get more discounts than the normal student card.

So there you have it. 10 items that I can't live without.

Introducing My Personal Malden, Marco

So. My personal Malden arrived yesterday. I was soo excited it was unbelievable. I wanted to make sure I savoured the moment as everyone gave high praise to it.

I was like a child at Christmas!

Then it came to opening it. This was a very delicate process. I was nervous when unwrapping it. Although the Malden has positive reviews I read one comment that said the vintage pink looked like meat. This made all sorts of visions rush through my head.

It was open. I LOVED IT!!!! The smell was amazing. It felt so soft. The colour was gorgeous and not at all "meat like".

I sat and looked at it for what seemed like ages. It was a work of art.

The fastening was gorgeous, like a strong arm holding you.

And the back was equally as impressive.
As the Filofax had been preowned I needed to order a new diary insert which luckily came the same day.

I also ordered some stickers and credit card pockets.

So now we get to see how I have organised my Malden.
I use my Filofax for diary and general notes usually. This one I intended to be my life.

With the zip pocket I hope to keep my money and use it as a purse when I'm brave enough to do so. My main cards will also go in the front.

Once open we have sticky notes to hand and personal information.

Then we have the diary. I like week to view as it has plenty of room.

I don't like my diary looking empty so I tend to doodle in it to make it look pretty. It will look more full once I get back to uni next month.
I love the black ruler that came with it.

My pocket urban came with a clear one that I disliked.

The Malden came with 4 tabs which suited me. I never use 6. These are to be organised as follows;
Tab 1.

My Filofax stickers. I love these. They brighten up the diary.

Tab 2.

This is my notes section. I have transferred over my noisy neighbour notes for safekeeping and have four colours of paper.

Pink for general notes. Lilac hasn't got a purpose as yet. I just like the colour. Blue is for important information, passwords etc. Green is my Christmas list as inspired by Imy.

This is where I write down everyone I need to buy for and what I have bought already.

Tab 3.

This is work in process. This is going to be my uni section. It's my final year so will have loads of dissertation work and notes to store for quick access.

Tab 4.

-This has a list of phone numbers from my phone. The Filofax came with A-Z tabs but I don't use it and it therefore took up unnecessary space. My numbers take up 2 pieces of paper which I find better.

Then there is to do and pages for web addresses. I'm not sure if these will stay in or not. I tand to either write on the note book at the back or post it notes at the front.
After the tabs I have a clear plastic pocket and 2 lots of credit card pockets.

At the very back I have a notepad which will be used mostly for uni for dissertation meetings and any notes I need to make.

I have my 4 colour bic pen which I love to write in the diary with. I was gutted that it didn't fit in the pen holder so it just tucks in the edge of the pocket next to the notepad. Instead I have my Filofax barley pen in the holder.

So there we have it. My filofax Personal Malden that I have named Marco. I love him to bits and he will be a big part of my life.

I hope you enjoyed an insight of my life :)
